July Uganda Prayer
Dear Friends,
As we are celebrating the 250th year Independence Day here in America, please hold in prayer our team in WallaWalla. The Paine family has faithfully served and supported the program in Uganda by selling fireworks for over 20 years. Their support is significant - Michelle and Elizabeth actually sleep at the fairgrounds as security. The neighboring tent has been broken in to, but theirs never has. Please pray for their safety, and for all the connections they make as they share the story of the children and program in Uganda.
The picture above is part of our team in Uganda. This was the lead team for the mission program to both Nambirizi and Kiwangala-Masaka schools this summer - from left to right:
Pastor Betty, Center Director for Masaka
Headmaster Sula, Secondary School
Milly, assistant to Betty
Headmaster Aquinas, Primary School
Joseph Along, alumni student from Kaliki Center GSM
Pastors John Tinka, Richard Zziwa, Hannah Ssali, head office
Dr. Osborn Muyanja
and Joshua Nyakayilu, head office
The mission theme "FEAR NOT, TRUST JESUS" was so timely, when the fear of Ebola was all over social media AND the team from Lake Bible wasn't able to get air flights due to airline limitations during this scare.
The week consisted of Christian Teachers Fellowship, devotions every morning and evening, Awana program, Bible Life Day, and groups on Sunday morning at Miracle Church, baptisms, campfire and goodbye assembly. God graced every program and it went so well.
There were 13 schools who participated in the Bible Life Day and the time and energy spent by the children and teachers to learn the word of God was, as Osborn said, 'heavenly'. Each school that participated was given a token of 10 Bibles, some trophies and a goat was given to the two winning schools. Good Samaritan Secondary won the high school prize.
On Father's Day Sunday, Osborn spoke at the church and they celebrated God the Father of us all. After the service were baptisms, and Bibles were given.
We praise the Lord. Mission ended successfully, with no Ebola or any problems throughout the week. We thank you, Lake Bible Church, for the love, support, the Bibles and the prayers. We know it was hard not to be a part of this program this year,
We are grateful for each one of you, those who pray, those who go to Uganda to work with the team, and those who donate. It is a big work, and a big team, but every one of you is valuable to us. Thank you for standing with and for this team and the children they serve. To God be all the Glory!
Together on the road,
Patty
