Robert and Lisa Garon
Lead Pastors

Robert is a passionate pastor, writer, content creator, and chocolate lover. Holding a Bachelor’s in Business Management and a Master's in Pastoral Counseling, along with over two decades as an entrepreneur and church ministry leader, he’s committed to helping people become stronger followers of Jesus. In his downtime, he can be found hiking in the mountains, reading in a coffee shop, on a walk with Lisa, and eating bougie food. Lisa Garon is a strategic thinker and creative spirit with a Bachelor’s in Business Management and a Master’s in Missional Multiplication. Her experience spans business management, strategic planning, project management, and mobilizing teams. She brings vision, clarity, and energy to everything she does. Beyond her professional expertise, Lisa loves to explore the outdoors, create art, and reflect through writing and journaling.

They have been married since 2003, and together raised their son Brayden, who is now serving in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Rob Whitaker
Worship Director

Rob Whitaker is an avid follower of Jesus who has been serving in ministry for 35 years as a Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor, and Worship Pastor. He has a deep passion for leading people into God’s presence through worship music and is committed to creating an atmosphere where others can encounter God’s love and grace. Rob believes that worship is more than just music—it's an opportunity to connect hearts to the heart of God.

By day, Rob is a dedicated educator, teaching 2nd graders full-time, and has been in the field of education for over 25 years. He holds a Bachelor’s in Bible and Religion and a Master of Arts in Teaching, bringing both his faith and his love for learning into the classroom. Rob’s life outside of work is filled with his love for music, exploring the outdoors, and cheering on his favorite football and basketball teams. He has been married to his wife, Shannon, for 33 years, and they find great joy in spending time with their three grandchildren. Rob’s heart for God, his family, and his community is evident in every aspect of his life and ministry.

Priscilla Peterson
Office Administrator

Priscilla Peterson has been the heart of Sherwood Community Friends Church’s office since 2015, keeping things running smoothly while bringing warmth and encouragement to everyone who walks through the doors. She loves seeing people get involved and firmly believes this is a place where you can grow in faith, find community, and serve the Lord in meaningful ways.

Her life is anchored in the truths of John 3:16 and 2 Peter 3:9b, constant reminders of God’s deep love and patience. She also strives daily to live out Philippians 4:8—focusing on what is true, noble, and praiseworthy. Through both the challenges and joys of life, she finds peace in God’s promises and seeks to reflect His love in all she does.

A proud mom of five and grandma to eleven, Priscilla treasures every moment with her family. When she’s not spending time with loved ones, you can often find her lost in a good book or tackling a challenging sudoku puzzle.
