Willowbrook Food Pantry Update 4/8/26
Hi Friends,
Spring is definitely here. The grass is growing like crazy.
I'm spending about $300 a week on food right now, mostly meat. We are very fortunate that our generous donors have given us a nice cushion. I don't expect this to last too long.
In 2025, we served 2390 families (plus 80 Thanksgiving boxes) with a total of 11,048 people according to our check-in software. This is 500 more people than in 2024 and our biggest year ever.
Half of our offerings from the Oregon Food Bank is a USDA shopping list. It is free food to us. In the past, it typically contained about 30 items. Last week it contained 4 items that were not beans. We really appreciate and rely on your support.
We appreciate the people who continually drop off plastic and paper bags. It means a lot to us that you take the time to do this. Thank you.
We are very thankful for the Sherwood Target store. They donate to us every week. They donate over 4000 lbs of food most months, and a lot of our meat comes from them.
There is a $10 off $50 Safeway digital coupon good only on Saturday and Sunday. It's not hard to spend $50 now, but if you need a little help, buying a couple items to donate is always appreciated
The items that I think are of greatest value to us from each store (when there is a clear standout) are highlighted with bold text. Also, some prices of items not advertised may be out of date. If you can donate a couple, that would really help us. In some stores, you have to buy 4 or 5 items to get the good price, which is sometimes cheaper than buying 2. We would appreciate the extras.
We are lowest on SPAGHETTI SAUCE, canned MEAT, JUICE, Canned FRUIT and CORN, CRACKERS.
