In this group I was able to share a little bit about who the Quakers and about who I am as a man of faith; how we try to live out the great Commandment. To love the Lord your God with everything we have and to love our neighbour as ourselves. Stripping away the preferences of practicing one’s religion and clinging to the non-negotiables. This debate about religion, and the practice of it, went on for another 20 minutes. Surrounded by a group of men who hold deep hurt and mistrust for organized religion, the words that I shared resonated.
The EFM-Ireland team has shared before that our goal is to walk alongside our friends, waiting to be invited in. It’s not our purpose to try and break the doors down, even though we may want to. When we imagine the picture of Jesus in Revelations 3:20, it helps clarify this vision. “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.”
It’s such a difficult thing to wait patiently. When we see the struggles and know that we must be invited in for the change to take place. So, we walk, step-by-step, day by day, for that’s who we are.

Please Pray…
First and foremost is health. We have both been struggling with energy and health. Pray for us and the doctors that they will be able to find a solution to bring us both back to full health and to be fully functioning again.
Pray for our education. For time management and that the information will land and help us in moving forward in ministry.
Pray for a deepening of our relationships. May those relationships that have been intentionally fostered over the last years continue to grow deep and bear fruit. And for the new relationships that have started to form, may those shoots grow deep quickly and will gain roots.
